Part Time Delivery Driver

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Field Operations Manager and the Meals on Wheels Coordinator, the Meals on Wheels (MOW) Driver position is responsible for meals on wheels food delivery. This is done following the guidelines of the agency and in compliance with laws, regulations, and contracts. These duties are always performed with the agency mission in mind.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other employees and the public
• Valid Texas Drivers License and excellent driving record
• Insurable in the State of Texas
• CPR and First Aid Certified (Can acquire after hire)
• Ability to adapt to frequent change, reliable, and dependable work ethic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Count, pack, and load meals on wheels in morning for delivery
• Drive agency vehicle to deliver meals (as assigned by Meals on Wheels Coordinator) safely and timely
• Employee must be able to read a map or use a GPS (Global Positioning System) to effectively location client homes for meal delivery
• Inform Meals on Wheels Coordinator if change in home bound client condition
• Maintain vehicle, mileage logs, and meal logs and turn in when required
• Responsible for daily vehicle checks, such as oil, gas, water, tires, windshield wipers, vehicle inspection, registration, etc.
• Responsible for notifying Meals on Wheels Coordinator and/or Field Operations Manager when agency vehicle needs service
• Maintain vehicle by cleaning and washing as needed
• Attend all staff training and in-service workshops as required
• Handle additional responsibilities as needed and assigned

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
