The Postdoctoral Gateway Course Assessment Analyst will support the Evaluation Specialist and faculty members from the University of Maine and University of Maine at Machias with the design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of assessment data from selected first-year undergraduate courses. Gateways courses are those that are typically taken by first-year undergraduates and have been identified as particularly important for predicting retention to sophomore year. Lead faculty for these courses are overseeing tailored projects to improve success rates as a part of UMS Transforms, a historic $240M commitment made by the Harold Alfond Foundation. The person in this position will play an important role designing appropriate assessment tools and measurement strategies for a variety of course projects, analyzing and interpreting the resulting data, and developing findings to inform future strategies. Typical hiring salary for this one-year fixed-length position is $50,000.

Required:
- A doctoral degree in assessment, evaluation and/or measurement in a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R)
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Organizational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines
