William Paterson University invites applications for the part-time position of Program Assistant in the Office of Transfer Programs and Special Sessions. The position entails approximately 20 hours per week at a salary of $25/hour and begins January 3, 2023.

Reporting to the Director of Transfer Programs & Special Sessions, the Program Assistant assists the office in advancing its goals to raise high school dual enrollments and increase transfer opportunities through articulation agreements and other TPSS programs.

Department Overview:

The Office of Transfer Programs and Special Sessions provides outstanding administrative support to the academic endeavors of the four colleges at William Paterson University pertaining to transfer credit/articulation and special sessions (winter, summer, and high school dual enrollment). The office upholds the university’s transfer credit procedure and develops non-traditional cohort-based programs, modules, initiatives, and other original educational models. Through its high school dual enrollment and transfer programs, the office is instrumental in advancing opportunities for all New Jerseyians and others to achieve a bachelor’s degree and beyond. The office substantiates the university’s mission and core values of offering excellent academic programs, increasing student success, and strengthening the bonds of community and service throughout and beyond the university.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with high school dual enrollment (DE) recruitment/conversation programs in addition to grade verifications, grade audits, and district workshops/training sessions for dual enrollment.
  • Assist with the other expanding programs the office oversees such as Articulation Agreements, including initiatives on increasing 3+1; Pioneer Pathways Joint Admissions Agreements; Reverse Transfer; WP at Mercer; Summer/Winter sessions; and grant initiatives.
  • Assist with e-mail blasts, scheduling meetings, workshops, orientations, social media, campaigns, and updating the various TPSS websites.
  • Collaborate and communicate with off-campus partner high schools and community colleges as necessary.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal WP offices and all levels of staff including but not limited to the School of Continuing and Professional Education, Adult Learning, Information Technology, Sponsored Programs, Marketing and Public Relations, Admissions, the Registrar’s Office, Student Accounts, and Student Enrollment Services.
  • Produce reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.
Qualifications:

Qualifications- the idea candidate must have the following:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other offices of organizations whose functions impact on assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence.
  • Demonstrate skills in Information technology and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite Office Applications.
  • Ability to work effectively using online platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
