Our client in Newark is in need of Purchasing Assistant for a busy wholesale distributor. The client is seeking to find the right candidate to aid in streamlining purchasing, and incidental processes throughout its operations. The candidate will be assisting purchasing and team managers by researching product fulfillments, evaluating costs, verifying product quality, processing purchase orders and support in providing delivery logistics. The position is all encompassing and includes following inventory trends, vendor relations and procurement of cataloged products.

• Learn purchasing habits and ensure that inventory levels are accurately maintained based on sales analytics.

• Prepare, send, and follow up on purchase orders and bid requests to vendors.

• Maintain and review purchasing documentation start to receipt including invoice proofing.

• Contact vendors to inquire about availability and negotiate pricing. Monitor shipments of containers and small packages from the time they are shipped till arrival.

• Assist in managing Bill of Material (BOM) data files for purchased and assembled products.

• Aid in container receiving and inter-warehouse transfers for raw goods, OEM and assembly products.

• Aid with inventory control through assembly and purchasing administration.

• Perform related job duties as required including assisting other plant or administrative functions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
