Agilent currently has a position for Research and Development System & Test Architect. This position is based in Penang, Malaysia, and will be working on new products in the Life Sciences field.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to define system architecture and lead cross-functional teams to investigate comprehensively to develop a cost-effective, reliable, and high-quality instrumentation system to meet project requirements and expectations. Provide technical knowledge of system engineering principles and their applications to facilitate seamless interpretation and translation into design intent.
- Understand the project's internal/external performance, functionality, form, fit, quality, reliability, robustness, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements work closely with the cross-functional teams to generate implementable Design Input that can be translated into Design Output with adequate prototype evaluation, research, analysis, simulation.
- As a technical point of contact to represent the project team to liaise, report, and update key stakeholders
- Generate executable test architecture/strategy to allow systematic execution into test plan in verifying the product qualities, functionalities, performances, reliabilities, and robustness as per the agreed requirements and aspirations.
- Key reviewer to buy off the test plan and test cases. Supervise the test execution from compliance and quality pespective.
- Drive product risk assessment using established tools (FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis…etc) to understand the anticipated design risks and create an action item plan to mitigate and contain the risks.
- Lead team to investigate the failure and perform Root Cause Analysis with professional tools and manage, track and monitor design/project issues and ensure proper closure with action at the required project stages.
- Responsible to work with the Project Manager in facilitating the transition and transfer of product design to the full production phase.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited college/university
- Typically 10 years of experience in R&D, NPI or Test Engineering.
- Good knowledge of basic electronic (DMM, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc.), and mechanical (positional, cyclic, temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, altitude, etc.) testing methodology.
- Experience with the design/ testing of automated equipment, robotics, and other instrumentation is an added advantage.
- Good depth of experience in FMEA or other failure prevention techniques.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills coupled with a detailed approach to root cause failure analysis
- Good organization, planning, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team.
- Able to adapt well to a dynamic working environment, eager to learn new knowledge, and able to work independently.
