Clinical Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Diet Tech (DTR) - Full Time

Job Summary:

Complete clinical nutrition requirements and assessments, under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian, including new patient evaluations, quarterlies, MDS, care plans, and nutrition risk monitoring. Reports directly to the Director of Nutrition Services/Registered Dietitian. Assist with leadership and supervisory responsibilities within the kitchen and dining rooms. Manage and organize select menus and tray card system. Ideal candidate enjoys working with a team in a fast paced environment, demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills, high energy and upbeat/positive attitude.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete new patient evaluations and obtain food preferences
  • Complete resident quarterlies, MDS, and update care plans
  • Attend weekly Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings with patients and families
  • Assist RD in the ongoing monitoring of weights and patient’s at nutritional risk
  • Assist in a supervisory role within the kitchen (no direct reports) to support the Dietary Director, Executive Chef and Registered Dietitian in the management, training and support of dietary staff.
  • Manage select menus and input menu choices into tray card system.
  • Printing tray cards, production reports, and updating resident profiles as needed
  • Occasionally fill in as needed in the kitchen

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Completion of a dietetic technician program by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Completion of continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration
  • Previous Long Term Care experience required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in the completion of dietary assessments, MDS, and care plans
  • Proficient in the use of electronic medical records (Preferably experience with Point Click Care)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to engage & interact professionally with patients, family members, facility staff and dietary team.
  • Working knowledge and compliance with all regulatory organizations including ACHA, CMS, and Department of Health
  • Strong leadership qualities including conflict management and resolution, staff coaching and counseling, hands-on approach and consistently demonstrates professional example for dietary staff

Schedule:

  • Full time (32-40 hours/week)
  • Every other weekend
