Spice House is looking for a Sales Support Specialist to manage existing wholesale accounts, improve existing internal processes to provide better customer service, and support the Business Development leader’s growth strategy. The position requires a passion for process excellence, a drive for results, exemplary customer service skills, and the ability to build strong relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage current wholesale customer relationships and sales, providing excellent customer service through clear communication
- Take inbound orders via email and move them into our systems for fulfillment, communicating back to the customer if there are delays or OOS items.
- Work with Analytics to monitor customer order frequency and identify opportunities to expand existing accounts.
- Maintain good relationships with current customers through meeting regularly, evaluating changing needs, and offering new products or discounts as appropriate
- Respond to organic incoming leads (website chat, email, phone, wholesale application form); work to acquire new accounts via tailored pitches, providing samples, exploring custom options, and fielding informational inquiries.
- Respond to B2B customer service inquiries, including correcting order mistakes, quality issues, or general dissatisfaction.
- Write/update and maintain wholesale product and price lists, policies & procedures for both finished goods and bulk orders; ensure team is appropriately trained on any changes
- Generate quotes for custom bulk or finished goods requests to meet both customer expectations and acceptable margins.
- Utilize & maintain knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Work closely with Planning and Production to communicate wholesale raw materials requirements and lead times per customer requests.
- Maintain customer information & eligibility for Net30 terms.
- Work with QA to supply all compliance documents as requested by the customer.
- Work with Production to develop, document, and implement a more streamlined bulk wholesale fulfillment process.
- Support IT and CS on planning and development of a customer-facing wholesale ordering platform.
- Support the Business Development leader on new growth initiatives.
Requirements
- 3-5 years prior sales support or account management experience, preferably in a wholesale environment
- Proficiency with the Office suite (word, excel, powerpoint), data search/entry and inventory systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to deliver strong customer service and satisfaction
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with customers as well as other departments within the company
- Self-confidence in order to effectively approach new customers and be persuasive and composed during sales presentations
- Exceptional accuracy, flexibility, patience, and persistence
- 2-3 days on-site presence in our Elk Grove Village office required, remote flexibility
- Passion for spices, food and the industry
