Berkeley Eye Center has been a Houston-area leader in Vision Care services for over 60 years. Our continued growth has us adding to our administrative infrastructure on a regular basis. We are adding a Senior Accountant position to our financial team. This is a full-time position based in Kingwood, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Hands on assistance with various departments (accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.)
• Assist in supervision of accounting staff

Requirements and skills

• Experience as senior accountant or increasing responsibilities over time
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to decipher data and present findings
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups, pivot tables, database connectivity
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like MS Dynamics
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Accounting degree
• Relevant certification or progress toward certification (e.g. CPA) will be preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
