Senior Business Solution Analyst (sBSA) plays a key role behind driving initiatives to improved efficiency and productivity. Under this role, there are 4 key responsibilities – Business IT Partnership, Business Solutioning & Analysis.

As part of sBSA’s responsibilities, he/she serve as the strategic interface with assigned business units or functional area for the purpose of business/technology strategy development, solution discovery, demand management and relationship management.

In addition to this, as part of business solutioning and analysis, he/she also collaborates closely with both business and technology team in understanding business problem and requirement and develop effective solution

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES GUIDE
1 Business Partnership role

• Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities.
• Responsible for demand management and prioritization of projects and demands together with business based on business case and objectives.
• Support and align efforts to meet business needs against Technology delivery team’s capacities/capabilities.
• Manage relationships with business and expectations by developing a communication process to keep stakeholders up to date on status of project/demand

2 Business Solution

• Collaborate closely with Technology Team to develop a fit for purpose solution in achieving business demand and objectives.
• Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process.
• Maintain clear and complete knowledge on company business architecture and procedures.
• Stay abreast with business trends and technologies.
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate workshops (discovery, scoping, solutioning, etc.) with participation from business units, technical delivery teams and vendors to conclude the right solution.
• Determine high level resource requirements and identify resources with appropriate skill sets to complete the project.
• Preparation of Solution Pack with the end-to-end proposed solution to address the users demand.

3 Business Analyst

• Completely and accurately capture the business requirements especially the processing and operation needs when preparing Business Requirement Specifications (BRS)
• Challenge and / or propose improvement to the process or requirements during the Requirement Gathering exercise. Ensure the users are agreeable to the proposal
• Ensure that the Functional Specification received from Delivery teams have fully delivered and address all the requirement items in Business Requirement Specification.
• Prepare the Requirement Traceability matrix
• Advisory role to users in the test plan or script preparation. Ensure that the Traceability matrix is also mapped out to ensure completeness of the test plans according to the requirement stated
• Advisory role during UAT stage, to ensure all discrepancy or disagreement in discussion between development team and users are ironed out
• Advisory role in preparation of UAT exit criteria at beginning of UAT stage

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
Education/Certification • University graduate, preferably in Business or IT or related
disciplines

• Insurance Background especially knowledge in the business operations, business analyst and solutioning
• Preferably with eCommerce or digital marketing exposure. Identify the level of educational / professional qualification to perform the job competently.

Example: Degree in Actuarial/MII Certification
Total Years of Experience • 10 + years proven experience in business requirement gathering & specification, user acceptance testing and user management, of which 8+ years solid experience in GI P&C and/or Health insurance industry.

• The incumbent must have around 8 years working experience involved with supporting or working in General Insurance related projects.
• Knowledge in DXC Polisy/Asia or Group/Asia system will be an added advantage
• Candidates with exposure in digital marketing, eCommerce. will be an additional advantage.
• Candidate with consultancy background with experience in business analysis, leading solution/application development will be an additional advantage
• Strong Stakeholder management skill and experience working with managerial level or higher
• Proven ability to develop a clear understanding of technology needs of business and articulate as IT strategy and solution requirements
• Facilitating workshops, preparing presentation materials by using design thinking process.
• Experience in conducting workshops with LUMA methods.
• Exposure in eCommerce/Digital marketing projects
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
• Organized, structured and be able to do detailed analysis work and documentation independently and also as a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in verbal and written English communications essential. Identify the necessary skills and experiences to perform the job competently
