This is a full-time, exempt position.
Job Purpose:
This role is primarily responsible for planning and leading the program work required to support business for customers. It is designed to provide necessary leadership for projects, customers and the technical community.
Goals and Objectives:
- Independently design, prepare, and present innovative formulas meeting customer requirements.
- Lead technical programs and beverage teams to achieve customer and business objectives.
- Fully Commercialize Beverage and systems, including support for required pilot trials, if necessary.
- Attend, implement and review training.
- Upload formulas (AS-400 & LEAD for pricing).
- Support and influence ACM.
- Sensory and Stability testing: directs, modifies, and issues customer reports.
- Participate and lead cross functional teams.
- Full formulation, including cost, margin, and EBIT targets.
- Prepare and attend customer demos.
- Manage longer term projects.
- Conduct and supervise batching.
- Supervise and mentor employees.
- Independently Address non-conformities and technical issues.
- Demonstrates beverage market knowledge.
- Support ISO.
- Completes all Commercialization Activities.
- Independently develops robust formulas
- BS or higher with a minimum 5 years experience (Food Science or related preferred) or High School Diploma or Associate Degree (with minimum 15 years experience).
- Solid Mathematical Skills - The Individual is comfortable with basic calculations, ratio scaling, fraction proportioning, percentage calculations, along with graphing techniques, predictive modeling, etc.
- Solid Scientific Skills - The Individual is comfortable with common scientific terminology, basic chemistry terms and concepts, basic human physiology, along with intermediate Chemistry and Biology knowledge including that chemical elements, compounds, reactions and terminology knowledge.
- Problem Solving Skills - The Individual is capable of problem/ root cause identification, alternative solution consideration and ultimate recommendation and selection of workable solution.
- Computer Skills - The Individual is comfortable with computer usage, internet access, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL and Email ( or similar program) usage, along with ability to create, edit, manipulate WORD and EXCEL files as well as basic presentation development using PowerPoint or other.
- Teamwork Skills - The Individual has ability to work closely within a team with productive results. Able to share workload with others. Able to communicate in a friendly yet business appropriate manner.
- Team Leadership Skills - The Individual has positive experience in leading teams either through direct accountability of supervision or through informal leadership of others to complete a task to achieve a goal.
- Industry Knowledge - The Individual has basic knowledge of target industry including key companies, technologies, cost and geographical factors. Appropriate understanding of consumer drivers.
- Written Skills - The Individual is able to prepare basic business and Email correspondence with appropriate word selection and usage.
- Verbal Communication Skills - The Individual is capable of clear verbal communication to supervisors, managers, team members and business contacts. Able to express ideas and needs clearly.
- Project Management Skills - The Individual has ability to manage technical and business programs through direct accountability of success factors to achieve a goal. Routine monitoring, follow-up, corrective action and routine reporting are required.
- People Management Skills - The Individual has ability to manage people through direct accountability of success factors. Routine monitoring, follow-up, corrective action and routine reporting are required.
