Position Overview:

75-year-old, mid-sized, global designer & manufacturer of Class II medical (dental) devices (50% chemical formations; 50% electronics and small equipment) on Long Island, New York, seeks a highly motivated Shipping Department Coordinator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a manufacturing environment. This position will coordinate with team (but not limited to) picking and preparing shipment to customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

(Duties are not limited to the description below & other duties may be assigned)

• Printing and prioritizing customer orders to be picked, packed, and shipped.
• Monitor the daily shipments.
• Monitor, direct and motivate team.
• Coordinate with Sales, Inventory, for shipments of products within required standards.
• Maintain the open order and backorder reports.
• Assist employees with shipping and production issues.
• Coordinate employee time-off requests
• Process UPS and FEDEX packages through computer module.
• Process Customer Returns (including working with Quality Assurance and Accounts Receivable Managers).
• Establish and maintain a positive and respectful environment.
• Ability to train department personnel for each phase of responsibility.

Qualifications Education and Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a shipping lead role in a manufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma
• Knowledge and experience with WorldShip and Ship Manager.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend customers’ orders, packing lists.
• Strong ability to work effectively and communicate with team, management, customer service and inventory departments.
• Knowledge and experience using NetSuite a plus.
• Knowledge and experience using RF Smart a plus.
• Hazardous Material Training a plus

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 60 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
