Supplier Quality Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Managing selected suppliers (e.g. API and other strategic suppliers), ensuring that they meet Haleon requirement
- Engaging selected suppliers and business units (BU) to maintain security of supply, by minimizing disruption to business through proactively engaging with key suppliers and sites. Ensure compliant, right-first-time supply of procured items to Haleon user sites / tolled CMOs, reducing cost of poor quality for our manufacturing sites so as to enable consumer to have access to quality products
- Working with respective Head of Quality in each QSC business units (BU) to support business
- Support BU SQM where possible
- Working closely with Procurement Commodity teams to develop and deliver Quality strategy for the assigned commodities

Strategy
- Provide QA input into production procurement sourcing strategies.
- Provide QA input into new product supply strategies as they relate to supplied materials and services.
- Provide input into CH Supply Chains on supplier quality related strategies
- Develop and deliver Supplier Quality strategies e.g. Commodity, Regional, SQ Ops strategy deployment
Risk management
- Support BU on first touch complaints and issues
- Carry out investigations into significant quality incidents (e.g. escalated complaints) arising at suppliers and ensure root cause of the problem is identified and appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented
- Communicate results of investigations and/or identified risks to ensure stakeholders understand the technical, regulatory and quality risks
- Lead or support PIRC where needed
- Ensure any learnings from incidents are communicated across Haleon and to relevant suppliers
- Develop the Quality Risk Model for nominated suppliers and use the output to identify low control suppliers and engage stakeholders
- Develop metrics to monitor supplier performance and drive improvements
Supplier quality management and improvement
- Support supplier life cycle management. from initiation to retirement.
- Maintain an awareness of supplier’s quality performance and material / component defect levels.
- Provide such information to other audit teams as part of assessment preparation when required.
- Identify areas for improvement across the supply base, including risk model output, and ensure these are incorporated into suppliers’ quality improvement plans
- Lead Supplier Excellence Program or other program to drive supplier improvement
- Provide assistance, technical advice, training and workshops to suppliers to achieve compliance with the audit standards.\
- Manage process and analytical changes with designated suppliers, ensuring appropriate review with technical and user sites. Ensuring any required validation and regulatory work is completed to required standard
- Provide support for new product introduction validation and PAI readiness activities.
- Manage supplier related change controls and deviations, as required.
- Coordinate initial alignment assessment to ensure supplier change proposal is concurred and provide leadership in the preliminary review of change at the appropriate approval level. To facilitate, build a change plan and monitor through to approval into routine use at markets and/ or post-implementation review, including any regulatory impact. Ensure timely communication with other impacted sites, central groups and suppliers. To approve SQ Ops managed supplier change control
- Lead global Product Requirement Specifications. Also lead cluster Distribution Risk Assessments.
Regulatory inspections at Haleon sites and Suppliers
- Ensure relevant support is available to Haleon sites undergoing regulatory inspections.
- Provide appropriate level of support for strategic suppliers undergoing regulatory inspections.
Internal quality processes
- Work in alignment with the internal quality processes and championing improvements in ways of working where applicable.
- Maintain internal quality system (SOPs, etc) to ensure that processes continue to meet Haleon QMS and external regulatory requirements
- Participate in internal and external audits, either as auditor or auditee
Interfaces
- Work with Haleon sites, Supplier Quality Audit and Procurement team to establish and implement a robust supplier quality improvement program. Responsible for communicating effectively to internal stakeholders on improvement activities
- Work with regulatory team as part of change control assessment
External Interfaces
- Participates in relevant external bodies to help establish and influence the Haleon position on quality matters relating to production suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience and knowledge of regulatory, GMP and Haleon quality requirements and ability to explain these and relate to GMS and supplier operations
- 10 + years pharmaceutical quality assurance experience
- Experience and knowledge of technologies used within the material / component supply base
- Experience and understanding of business environment and ability to build networks with third party suppliers.

- Advanced Degree
- Good appreciation of business environment and ability to influence suppliers to support business objectives
- Good influencing and negotiating skills to ensure implementation of appropriate standards, specifications and agreements and to persuade internal and external stakeholders to “buy-into” a specific course of action.
- Good verbal and written communications skills to ensure effective relay of issues, risks and opportunities so that these are well understood by all parties and that effective actions are put in place.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a matrix organization, across multiple and geographic boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to develop business strategies and translate these into workable business processes

The salary range for this role is: $107,000 - $127,000 or higher, depending on experience, plus 12% target bonus; this is applicable to US candidates only.
