Job description
This role will be responsible for solving level 1 and level 2 Wintel problems as well as implementing enterprise B2B solutions.
For Wintel Server administration:
- Implementation of Windows based infrastructure based on business requirements
- Ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Windows based infrastructure based on business
requirements * Support Windows Server based systems, system software, clustering software and system management
agents
- Troubleshoot and resolve Windows OS related incidents and problems
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for OS related service problems as part of problem management
- Liaise with support vendors for maintenance, support or issues resolution.
- Review event logs and analysing historical usage for tracking and trending by CPU, memory, I/O and
storage * Implement capacity improvement strategies and capacity planning for customers' servers to accommodate
future expansion. * Assist in developing, maintaining and executing the Technical Disaster Recovery Plan
- Provide technical support during disaster
- Manage the server OS patching procedure and security hardening
- Evaluate and review patches, before and after installation
- Perform backup and restore of systems based on business requirement
- Writing/updating technical design, build and process documentations.For internal local IT support:
- Responding to technical support calls from end users of computers and software applications
- Setting up and installing new computers, networks and software
- Setting up user accounts and profiles
- Installing updates, known as patches, to software applications
- Installing and configuring OS, anti‐virus software and other applications such as Microsoft Office
- Diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults
- Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
- Maintaining inventories of hardware
- Keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions, for future reference.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent.
- Possess reasonable leadership and interpersonal skills and have experience working in large enterprise operational environments.
- Familiarity in carrying out Windows server OS troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Cluster is a must.
- Working knowledge in VMware vSphere 4.x and above is a must.
- Working knowledge in SAN Storage management.
- Knowledge in Windows, where documented knowledge/certification for Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016 would be an advantage.
- Working experience of installation and operation of Windows Servers (2003/2008/2012/2016) operating systems, software and backup solutions.
- Knowledge of server hardware and equipment such as HP/IBM servers and HP/IBM SAN would be an advantage.
- Knowledge or enterprise backup solution such as Symantec Backup exec.
- Familiarity with enterprise virus protection software such as Symantec Endpoint Protection, Mcafee endpoint protection etc.
- ITIL Foundation V3 or V4 certified or equivalent work experience
- Some automation and scripting experience would be an advantage
- Preferable certified in:
- Microsoft MCSE / MCSA / MCITP
- Vmware VCA / VCP / VCAP.
- Self‐motivated, customer oriented and a team player when involved in projects.
- Ability to learn in a fast paced environment, multi‐task, perform under pressure, and be a strong team player.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Process good oral and written communication skills in English.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Salary: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
