NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range
$138,600 - $235,500
- Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like
The Electronic Parts Program (EPP) is seeking a highly motivated Technical Systems Analyst to join our multidisciplinary and dynamic program. The EPP is a complex multi-site program executed by Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) out of organization 7640, and Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) to ensure commercial electronic parts are utilized reliably, predictably, and repeatably in nuclear deterrence systems. Our vision for the program is to be the enterprise leaders in establishing operational excellence and developing and executing an assured technical basis to integrate commercial electronic parts into defense systems. This is an exciting opportunity to execute a new business model created to deliver on our commitments and transform how commercial electronic products are used in current and future defense programs.
In this role you will aggregate data from various sources and perform technical analyses to advise decision makers in addressing program-specific problems and risk specific to commercially available electronic components. Additionally, you will provide technical and supply chain risk analyses of current and emerging threats to the availability of commercial electronic technologies and identify potential mitigation strategies or avoidance tactics based on findings. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with the ability to take complex problems/data sets, identify mitigation or management strategies, and communicate to leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Define systemic problems to be solved and formulate solution requirements specific to use of commercial electronic technologies in defense applications
- Design and implement methods to gather and manage data associated with the supply chain of commercial technologies including sub-tier value chain activities
- Identify global risks that will impact commercial electronic technology and recommend activities to analyze and manage said risks
- Monitor mergers and acquisitions of current supply base to determine risks and mitigations based on commodity type
- Gather information from a variety of sources and apply analytical methods, objective assessments, and expert judgment to make recommendations
- Evaluate competing characteristics between system elements to determine the most effective integrated solution
- Collaborate with peer government agencies, market intelligence firms, and other organizations across the enterprise as appropriate
- Use a variety of problem-solving methodologies to identify solutions to complex operational, programmatic, and strategic problem sets
- Lead development of processes and procedures to complete analysis
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
- Thorough knowledge of data gathering and analysis methodologies for diverse data sets
- Thorough understanding of supply chains and associated dynamics for commercially available technology such as active technology, passive technology, and semiconductors
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Qualifications We Desire
- An active DOE Q-level security clearance to start and ability to obtain Sigma15 level access
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline
- Experience extracting data from various IT systems
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams that are not collocated
- Ability to deliver products in complex and ambiguous environments and “fail forward”
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to team across all disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex system issues and ideas to customers and stakeholders at all levels

Department 7645 leads the EPP through integrated planning activities, execution management, and communication across the participating organizations and with sponsor organizations. The department also executes integrated program management functions by designing and executing well integrated communication and alignment systems, data streams for visibility of status and baselines, change control, and shared awareness and understanding between the participating organizations.

Security Clearance
