JOB PURPOSE The Technician is primarily responsible in ensuring complaints indicated in the maintenance request from residents in all accommodation units relating to plumbing, mechanical and electrical, furniture and general building maintenance. To provide efficient technical support in maintaining a comfortable and safe environment within the accommodation unit. RESPONSIBILITIES > To report directly to Technician Supervisor > To check and perform works as per report in the online system in areas of M&E items, plumbing, and carpentry within reasonable datelines. > To report maintenance problems that cannot be handled internally to management for further action. > To supervise all work done by contractors in the unit concerned. > To conduct planned preventive maintenance ( PPM) on M & E equipment and other appliances which requested by the management > To check accommodation conditions when performing duties at accommodation and report problems, cleanliness, orderliness, students contravening the accommodation rules, etc. > To update records on use of stocks during maintenance assignments. > Conduct spot checks as and when necessary to reduce the impact of adhoc occurrences increase the degree of safety in the unit. > To assist with moving of furniture, equipment , appliances and other items as and when necessary. > To assist with the check-in and check-out procedures during peak periods. > To attend scheduled department meetings. > To ensure M&E items in good working order for safety of student staying at accommodation. > Any other duties assigned. MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION >SPM and/or Certificate in Building Maintenance RELATED EXPERIENCE > At least one (1) year of hands-on experience in related field > COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES) > Knowledge of handyman skills such as painting, minor electrical and plumbing repairs > Knowledge of basic health and safety rules and regulations > Ability to work in a fast-paced and meet deadlines > Ability to work pro-actively to achieve efficiency and effectiveness > Possess a good command of Bahasa Malaysia and/or English
