Job Summary:
PLNU is looking for a dedicated and organized team member with a friendly disposition, strong communication skills, attention to detail, exceptional customer service, highly collaborative, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, passion for students, and a love for logistics to support and grow within the transportation department office. You will be a great teammate who is willing to take direction, shows initiative, and can work independently. You are a fast learner and are willing to take on projects and directions as assigned. The role will oversee transportation logistics, ensuring that all PLNU transportation needs are met promptly and cost-effectively.

Job Description:
What We're Looking For:

Experience and knowledge of transportation logistics and operations
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Workday, and transportation management software is a plus

You have an eye for attention to detail and identifying customer needs

Self-motivated and able to work with regular check-ins and supervision from department leaders or teammates to communicate back progress and updates.

Enthusiastic, passionate, and strong work ethic!

Proactive and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.

Strong verbal and communication skills!

Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population is preferred
What You'll Be Doing:
-
Coordinate transportation services for PLNU students, faculty, and staff, including scheduling and dispatching vehicles, drivers, and other transportation resources as needed.

Monitor transportation operations and performance to ensure timely, efficient, and safe transportation services.

Develop and maintain transportation budgets, policies, and procedures.
-
Communicate with vendors and contractors to negotiate pricing and services.
-
Manage vehicle maintenance and repair schedules, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and inspected.

Respond to transportation-related emergencies and incidents, including coordinating with emergency services as needed.

Assist with the management of special events transportation needs.

Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.
Qualifications:
-
Class B license with passenger and air brake endorsement required.

Knowledge of gasoline and diesel vehicles systems
-
Five-plus years of experience in transportation

Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards

High school diploma or equivalent required

Proficiency in keyboarding and computer software, including Microsoft Suite

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU’sCommunity Life Covenant.

Physical Requirements:

Work is primarily sedentary, but may require sitting, standing, bending, stooping, or other physical activities as needed.

Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor.

Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone.

Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 75 lbs.
