CUMULUS MEDIA | (Atlanta, GA) has an immediate, hybrid-remote opening for a full time Accounting Manager for our corporate headquarters to support the Director of Accounting in carrying out the responsibilities of the department. This position is responsible for overseeing the Westwood One expense processes, supporting the Westwood One sales and leadership team, supervising accountants, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations and preparing variance analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, as well as outstanding organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage 2 direct-reporting Staff Accountants.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close process; coordinate and execute all required close activities based on the close schedule.
  • Perform detailed review and analysis of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, invoices, etc.
  • Complete monthly network partner statement creation and distribution, along with recording of associated expenses.
  • Interface with network partners in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Timely review, research, and approval of invoices.
  • Research and apply appropriate GAAP pronouncements.
  • Evaluate current processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Respond to inquiries from Senior Management and internal/external auditors regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
  • Manage workload and prioritize job tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Comply with US GAAP, COSO, and SOX in concert with our corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Interface with management in various departments.
  • Support Director of Accounting with special projects and ad hoc requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required, CPA/CPA-track candidates preferred.
  • 4 – 6 years progressive accounting experience, with month-end close and general ledger accounting experience required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to be flexible and effectively work with others as a team.
  • A high attention to detail and the ability to produce results/accomplish goals in a deadline-driven work environment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
