Carrier Sales Representative
Job description
As a Carrier Sales Representative you will connect the world through technology and innovation.
You will work with trucking company owners, dispatchers and drivers to coordinate customer shipments: it’s all about finding the right truck for the right shipment at the right time for the right price.
This role combines inside sales, account management, supply chain planning and operational activities to meet the shipping needs of our customers. Relationships with your carriers will help grow their business and your career.
Roles:
- Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships (lead generation, calling prospective trucking companies and referrals)
- Build strong relationships with trucking company key contacts (i.e., owner operators, dispatchers and drivers)
- Identify issues and work cross-functionally to determine and implement the best solution
- Maintain constant contact with carriers (average 75-100 touch points/day) to secure additional truck capacity and manage existing business agreements
- Provide exceptional service to our carriers and customers
- Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated and tracked in the system
- Developing an overall business strategy to build a book of business.
- Build a book of carrier business and grow it regularly.
- Teach your subordinates how to negotiate freight rates to carriers.
- Build Carrier Sales SOP’s for your team to follow.
- Manage and track KPI’s for your entire Carrier Sales team.
- Motivate and engage your team on a daily basis to drive performance.
- Manage the constructive counseling process and ensure disciplinary action is properly handled.
- Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism.
- Procurement of new carriers based on volume and lane density.
- Guide your team on market knowledge of shipping lanes, geography, and seasonality.
- Meet and exceed monthly KPI’s and goals
- Handle and communicate all issues to appropriate parties in a professional manner.
- Ensure collaboration between your team and all other departments to ensure all loads are booked and tracked in accordance with Circle Logistics policies and procedures.
- Provide coaching and guidance to your team members to ensure freight is covered properly.
- Attend Management meetings and collaborate with leaders from other departments.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
