*Note for potential candidates:This role is available on our weekend shift, which involves working twelve (12) hours on Saturday and Sunday and eight (8) hours on Monday (the eight shift may be on Friday instead of Monday). You will work thirty-two (32) hours and get paid for forty (40) hours. Scheduled off days are either Tuesday through Friday or Monday through Thursday, depending on the shift. You will undertake training on the Monday - Friday crew before being assigned to the weekend crew.*

**CNC Tool Grinder (Weekend Shift) - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH**

**Objective

**

  • Operate various grinding machines and their setups.

  • Operate and program CNC grinding machine to perform any grinding or checking operation equipment is capable of.

  • Work from set up sheets, prints, manuscripts tapes, CNC memory bank, M.D.I, written and verbal instructions.

  • Develop own programs and stores same on manuscripts and network directories.

  • Responsible for accurate assembly and identification of all present components in tool packages.

  • Hook up components/fixtures and assist crane operator.

  • Assemble/disassemble components, tools, and fixtures.

  • Make in-process changes on own or under the supervision of programmer and/or immediate supervisor.

**Minimum Requirements

**

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience performing precision machining functions on large machines is desired. Journeyman level machinist designation or equivalent is preferred.

  • Willingness to work any shift is essential.

  • Proficiency with CNC controls, including G and M coded commands is a must.

  • Able to work to ±.001" tolerance and microfinish 16 when necessary.

  • Able to edit or modify programs as necessary. Able to write minor programs.

  • Able to recognize potential problems as the machine is running and compensate to avoid collisions.

  • Ability to demonstrate the use of various measuring instruments, including dial bore gauges, indicator snap gauges, verniers, .0001 micrometers, and other specialty gaging equipment

  • Possess skills necessary to maintain accurate documentation and the ability to follow complicated procedures and document accordingly.

  • Successful completion of all pre-employment processes, which include skills assessments and mechanical comprehension testing, background check, drug screen, and physical examination is required.

**Physical Demands

**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate verbally and with written information; to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk frequently. The employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use ladders inside and outside of parts being machined. The employee may occasionally need to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Please note: This position pays an hourly rate of $35.016 and is complemented bya comprehensive benefits package.
