Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Development of Client Projects (75%) – Use your doctoral-level training, biopharmaceutical industry experience, and professional judgment to be strategically and tactically responsible for collaborating and consulting with Medical Affairs clients to develop professional-looking and rigorous scientific assets. These include slide presentations, publication planning, dossiers, scientific training, etc; see our brief capability overview at https://www.bit.ly/wesleybrief. Success will depend on expertise in using PowerPoint and Word, with focus on alignment with scientific strategy, content flow, literature selection and evaluation, content visualization, alignment to style guide, and ability to support medical/legal/regulatory review including Veeva
  • Client Management (10%) – Develop professional relationships with assigned client accounts to ensure satisfaction across projects, identify opportunities for future projects, develop project proposals, and increase business volume
  • Project Lead (10%) – Lead a small team for individual projects – which can include content writer, graphics designer, administrative support, and securing external resources – to develop client projects, set appropriate expectations, and ensure client satisfaction
  • Peer Quality Control and Assistance (5%) – As a learned professional and based on professional judgment, efficiently review peer project drafts and provide helpful feedback, as well as assist peers in their projects

Minimum Requirement

  • Citizen or permanent resident of the United States, legally allowed to work in the United States
  • Excellent written US English and fluent, easy-to-understand conversational US English
  • US PharmD degree, or MD/PhD in a relevant field
  • Intermediate PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Hands-on experience as a primary developer of ≥3 PowerPoint slide decks in typical Medical Communications quality, suitable to be used for HCP presentations
  • Expertise in setting up Word to optimize formatting of long documents
  • Excellent content interpretation and selection skills from medical journals
  • Worked 5+ of past 7 years in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company in these capacities – Medical/Scientific Communications and/or MSL, or in a medical communications agency where the focus was in developing scientific content at the Medical Affairs level
  • Experience in managing projects or a client account related in the biopharmaceutical sector
