• Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Will perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
• Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
• Works closely with Test engineers and conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. Troubleshoots prototypes and model failures
• Understand implications of and lead semi-complex to complex projects using considerable judgment creatively and effectively, while making recommendations for solutions
• Provide technical assistance to other Test Technicians by troubleshooting new or persistent issues, performing rework, accessing computer systems, reviewing schematics, and utilizing fixtures using previous experiences/schematics/assembly drawings/work instructions, while management updated; escalate to Leads/Engineers/Supervisors for solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex issues by utilizing BKM (Best Known Method)/Tech Bulletins/FCO's
• Prioritize escalations by communicating verbally and in writing to other Test Techs/Leads/Supervisors/Engineers
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements

Safety Protocol:

• Complete all required safety training
• Follow safe work practices by lifting no more than 35 pounds, using ergonomic pads, stretching when needed, etc.
• Adhere to personal/ and product safety guidelines by:
• Utilizing appropriate PPE following clean room procedures
• Following Lockout Tagout policies and procedures (LOTO and ZEST)
• Utilizing fixtures (lift hoists, lift track, gantry cranes, lifting tool) to aid in the assembly of tools
• Perform Risk Management By Walking Around (RMBWA) inspections and document, correct and/or escalate safety issues/hazards to appropriate individuals/departments
• Respond directly and quickly to unsafe practices; escalates to next level manager (safety representative, lead, supervisor, manager); and escalates any unresolved issues (incorrect use of hoist, poor placement of tools/cords/ladders, etc., not using cones or barriers, PPE misuse)

• Associates degree/Diploma in electronics & electrical, mechatronics or related field required
• 3-5 years of semiconductor capital equipment industry
• Work 12-plus hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment
• Squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand and operate in ergonomically- challenging positions for over 50% of time
• Lift 35 pounds
• Perform repetitive motions using hands and various hand tools
• Distinguish between colors for wire identification
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Flexible and responsive to changing priorities (e.g. rework, overtime and limited travel to other Lam/customer facilities, etc.)

• Associates degree in technical field
