Business Need/Purpose of Role:

The SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) Generalist is responsible for day-to-day SHE activities at our dynamic manufacturing facility. Under the supervision of the SHE Manager, the SHE Generalist works closely with champions, team leaders, and operators in activities supporting the continued development of our SHE controls and Zero Harm culture.

Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Weir Group’s SHE Charter is fully respected via full implementation of internal protocols and procedures across the site
  • Provide support for all SHE aspects of the site including documentation, monitoring and measurement and reporting to authorities
  • Support SHE legislation tracking and compliance
  • Assist in implementation of SHE related controls and corrective actions
  • Work with operations teams to perform hazard identification, risk assessment, and environmental aspect analysis
  • Perform planned and unplanned SHE inspections
  • Assist in incident investigation and reporting using ESCO’s “SHIELD” system
  • Support utility and resource use, reduction programs, and initiatives
  • Support SHE training and documentation
  • Track and report SHE activities and metrics

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related science or engineering subject preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in an industrial setting performing similar work preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, as needed.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States.
  • The ideal candidate will also have SHE-related certification/license, experience working with ISO Management systems (9001, 14001, 45001, and/or 50001), and experience with MS Teams & SharePoint.

Other:

  • Working environment: office based but with close on the floor manufacturing site support expectation which includes - noise, and dust; indoor/outdoor in all types of weather.
  • Physical demands: Requires mobility within a manufacturing environment with the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, walk, and climb as needed; requires good corrected vision
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements: Minimum of a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety boots; additional PPE is required for certain areas and activities within our manufacturing facilities.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
