Position Description

The Grants & Media Coordinator ensures the financial strength of the Ronald McDonald House through grant writing and reporting and communications including website, blog content, and social media content and presence.

Major Areas of Responsibility

* Grant Writing:

  • Seek out, write, and coordinate grant proposals and submissions as well as follow-up reporting for unrestricted operating funds and restricted funds for specified projects to meet or exceed annual budgetary goals.
  • Research opportunities and build partnerships with public and private organizations to ensure the immediate and long-term revenue goals of the organization.
  • Foster the growth and implementation of best practices for all grant-related functions including proposals, budget development, and data integrity.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to collect and collate information into case statements, letters of intent, proposals, and reports.
  • Maintain detailed records of all grant activity.
  • Report on grant-related decisions, activities, and outcomes both within the organization and outside the organization.
  • Follow relevant news, grant trends, and government activity as it relates to RMHC Huntington’s needs.
  • Stay apprised of current and planned programs and priority initiatives within the organization for the purpose of accurately and persuasively communicating achievements and goals to prospective funders.

* Manage Social Media

  • Assist in defining and protecting the integrity of RMHC’s brand and all uses. Communicate branding guidelines to external audiences.
  • Develop graphic designs and manage collateral for all RMHC efforts and needs; including development solicitations, events, stewardship, volunteer programs, guest relations, and social media. Coordinate and maintain RMHC’s social media messaging with an aesthetic that is consistent with the overall RMHC branding.
  • Work collaboratively to prepare a social media plan, timelines and priorities for individual events/activities as well as those with an institutional focus.
  • Build a creative, dynamic, consistent, and interesting social media voice that encourages lively engagement from audiences.
  • Maximize events, press, promotions and outreach in the social media platforms.
  • Develop timely reports and make recommendations on results and activities of social media and email communications.

* Manage & Update Website and Blog

* Supporting Public Relations, Fundraising, & Special Events

* Board and Committee Support:

  • Prepare an update to contribute to the Development/Fundraising Committee Agenda at least one week prior to the meeting and submit it to the Director of Development detailing grant requests and monetary asks for the month being reported upon as well as foundation meeting updates and community relationship developments.

* Provide Overnight & Weekend Emergency Coverage as Needed

* Other Duties as Required Including Special Events, Fundraising, and More

  • Knowledge of HIPAA

Education and Experience

  • Preferred three years of grant writing and reporting experience
  • Preferred three years of graphic design and social media experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient Microsoft office, project management and social media skills.
  • Two Years of Experience in Non-Profit Setting

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to electronic screens, moving mechanical parts, and vehicles. Incentive Based Bonus Structure

In addition to annual salary, this position includes an incentive-based bonus structure for our Grants & Media Coordinator for year-end total unaudited operating revenue exceeding budgeted revenue: $792,700.00 with the following metric:

Year-End Total Operating Revenue = Incentive Bonus for Development Staff

Up to $792,700.00 = 0

$792,700.01 - $871,970.00 = $675.00

$871,970.01 - $951,240.00 = $1,350.00

$951,240.01 – $1,030,510.00 = $2,700.00

$1,030,510.01 – $1,109,780.00 = $4,050.00

Over $1,109,780.01 = $4,725.00

Payment of incentivized bonus would be made no later than February 15th after year-end if employee is still employed in same capacity with the organization.
