Performs operations at the front end or back end of our Austempering furnaces. ***1st shift opportunity***

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

HAND PLACING functions

• Loads parts on moving furnace belt per instructions, while on an elevated work platform
• Cleans off parts by unloading conveyors using compressed air, water, or various hand tools as per instructions, written or verbal
• Sorts parts for foreign material by performing a visual inspection as per instructions, written or verbal
• Loads totes into the pan washer to remove grease and/or oil, as per instructions, written or verbal.
• Transfers parts out of large tubs or wire containers into HTI totes, filling totes to no more than 35 lbs. gross weight
• Packs customer finished products
• Cleans, makes and fills “Heat Treat Bags”
• Performs general housekeeping duties as directed

FRONT END functions

• Maintains specific conditions to meet customer expectations by observing machine operations, gauges, displays and adjusting controls
• Brings materials to workstations by utilizing powered industrial trucks (forklift)
• Ensures that hand placers have material at furnaces in which to hand place
• Loads parts into automatic loaders
• Monitors furnace operation by listening for warning bells/lights, dials, displays and gauges
• Adjusts furnaces by setting and adjusting speeds, pounds per hour, carbon, speed of agitator and temperatures as determined by Trac Sheets
• Starts and ends job orders

BACK END functions

• Prepares parts for shipping by reviewing Trac Sheets and determines which containers to ship parts and quantity in each container
• Sorts parts for foreign material by performing a visual inspection.
• Removes excess oil from parts by placing them into the spinner per Trac Sheets
• Identifies completion of job by entering ID, scan furnace number, operator name on the Trac sheet
• Moves parts form one station to another by utilizing powered industrial trucks (forklift)
• Proper usage of air brushes and air knives
• Drains water from dip tanks
• Cleans ledges between each order

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• 6 – 12 months of manufacturing and/or logistics experience is preferred
• Ability and desire to problem solve and carry out instructions
• Able to read, write and speak fluent English
• Ability to apply and utilize mathematical concepts such as technical mathematics, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions and ability to use a calculator to solve practical solutions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Regular use of hands and fingers; regularly stoop, kneel, crouch and climb
• Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds; potentially need to move products up to 75 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to fumes and airborne particles
• Able to work consistently using hearing protection, around heavy mechanical machinery and often in hot temperatures
