We are seeking a dynamic and responsible lab technician who is eager about our growing company by joining the R&D Engineering department under Company's Tribology and Stylus and Optical Metrology
(TSOM) group. In this position, the candidate will be working closely with our team in building assemblies and cables for projects, perform in-house machine setups, operating in-house system, perform basic electrical troubleshooting, collect data and provide technical support to TSOM R&D Engineering. The candidate will be involved in upcoming projects as well as assisting with current activities as assigned by a supervisor. We are looking for an individual that has exceptional teamwork skills, communication skills, is self-motivated, and is enthusiastic about instrumentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Build assemblies based on assembly drawings.
• Build cables from schematic diagrams and cable drawings.
• 
  Understand and execute electrical and electronics installations from schematics and bill of materials. This includes building of electrical assemblies, electrical panels, control box, and running of cablings.
• Troubleshoot electrical system for TSOM related activities.
• Assemble, test, and debug prototypes and specials.
• Collect test data.

Work with engineering and manufacturing to produce special customizations of existing instruments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Background in electrical and/or electronics engineering.
• Able to interpret electrical schematic diagrams.
• 
  Able to build cables and simple PCB assemblies.
• Experienced in machine level cabling.
• Able to use hand tools for prototype building.

Good hands-on skill in soldering cables and PCBs.
Knowledge in SEMI S2 and high-power electrical design will be an added advantage.

• Basic circuit board design of analog and digital circuits

ADDED CONSIDERATION:
Experienced in 3-phase AC power installations.
