Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Lift Truck operator is to ensure safety for themselves and their teammates above all other considerations. The Lift Truck Operators responsibilities include, but are not limited to the safe receipt, handling, and storage of coils in the outside storage yards. In addition, the Lift Truck Operator is tasked with loading outbound coils on all modes utilizing the Lift Truck. The Lift Truck Operators a member of the team that supports the mill in receiving, storing, and supplying coils, along with other services throughout the mill as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 3 years of heavy lift truck and/or forklift experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of outside shipping operations and the departments shipping supports
