About the Role
This Outside Recruiter position will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling students at Ranken Technical College. The focus of this role is to increase enrollment at our Ranken West locations - Ashland, Wentzville, and Troy Missouri through both on- and off-campus recruiting activities throughout central Missouri and surrounding areas.
This role will focus on recruiting activities geared toward high school students and those transitioning from the military but may include other non-traditional groups as well. In this job, you’ll use your knowledge of Ranken’s technical programs (don’t worry—we’ll teach you what you don’t know yet!) to increase awareness of the incredible career opportunities that are available in technical and traditional trades and to help potential students recognize Ranken as a path to a solid future.

What You’ll Do
· Engage with high school staff and military personnel to coordinate a full calendar of planned recruiting activities.
· Recruit at high schools within the designated territory (Central Missouri/I-70 Corridor – St. Charles to KC), including presenting to groups of students and meeting with educators/guidance counselors to build awareness of Ranken as a post-graduation option.
· Attend college fairs, career fairs, and other recruiting events to connect with potential students and their influencers.
· Visit area military bases and attend military career fairs/college fairs to build awareness among those separating from the military.
· Engage with potential students through consistent follow-up via phone calls, emails, and texts to educate on Ranken’s offerings, build upon their interest, and encourage enrollment.
· Guide interested students through the enrollment process from their first interaction all the way to the start of their first class through quality communication and follow-up.
· Build relationships with educators, guidance counselors, technical instructors, military personnel, and others of influence.
· Conduct campus tours for individuals as well as groups of potential students.
An Ideal Candidate Will…
· Live within 50 miles of the assigned territory.
· Have outstanding customer engagement and follow-up skills.
· Use effective and professional communication in all areas: in-person, writing, email, virtual, and over the phone.
· Have excellent presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills to influence decisions.
· Possess strong organization and time management skills needed to secure and coordinate visits, presentations, event participation, and other recruitment activities.
· Have a yearning desire to exceed daily, weekly, monthly, and even yearly recruitment goals.
· Be proficient in using Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
· Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in working with students’ personal records.
· Be available to work the occasional evening or weekend recruiting activity.
· Have a valid driver’s license.
· Pass a background check.
Bonus Factors (Not required, but helpful to have!)
· Bachelor’s degree.
· A background in education, military, marketing, sales, or business.
· Three years of sales experience with a track record of success.
· Experience using Salesforce or another CRM platform
