Opportunity
The associate must be able to demonstrate applied electrical-electronic theory in the examination and use of components, controls, their interface wiring, connections and their operation. The associate will be responsible for developing or assisting in the development and implementation of small engine electrical engineering products and support systems or electrified systems, through design, testing and related product support. Work will include conceiving, planning and implementation of the product or system, with special focus on validation and verification of supplier products used in engine or hybrid electrical systems. The associate may need to train technicians for related work in those areas. The associate will also support engineering investigations and product development which could involve interpreting electrical schematics, performing tests, and providing appropriate technical reports. The associate must be able to present findings to various audiences and have appropriate speaking and presentation skills. The associate must be able to develop standards and make product improvement recommendations. The associate must be able to combine various technologies go anticipate customer needs. It is expected the associate will develop partnerships with internal and external customers.
Specific Responsibilities
- Show competency in electrical circuit analysis through use of electrical calculations and formulas in designs or investigative work.
- Use schematics, drawing or program software to analyze or develop electrical product solutions.
- Use and implement software for electronic engine controls.
- Establishes and reviews complex projects to identify goals and provide necessary results.
- Exhibit competency in the use and operation of various pieces of electrical test equipment.
- Develop and provide electrical tests on supplier components or systems.
- Provide complete technical reports and presentations to various teams and management.
- Key technical support of other teams as it relates to electrical or electrification product operation and implementation.
- Demonstrate expertise in analysis of electrical system or component product failures.
- Ability to work independently, train technicians and coordinate related test or investigation activities.
- Personal time management of tasks based on priority, timelines and deadlines with demonstrated results.
- Lead, mentor and guide other technicians or analysts.
- Build technical relationships with customers.
Skills/Requirements
- Two-year associate degree preferred or directly related technology certificate from accredited career school or college.
- 3-6 years of related experience in developing or implementing electrical engineering technology and proven experience with working tools to support hardware and software diagnosis and implementation.
