Farmingdale Meat Market currently has an opportunity available for a full time Retail Cashier. The Retail Cashier will be responsible for processing all transactions in our retail environment. Their duties include balancing the cash register, making change, recording purchases, processing returns and scanning items for sale. Other administrative duties include answering incoming phone calls and entering orders into our online system.

General Accountabilities

• Greets customers and responds to their inquiries about products and services
• Processes Credit Card and Cash Payments for Retail Customers
• Receives delivery of retail store products and organizes in appropriate spots
• Files monthly invoices
• Files customer credits
• Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
• Report issues with equipment
• Handle customer complains
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout area
• Assist in stocking and rotating merchandise
• Stay up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements and product information

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience with cash transactions
• Flexible work schedule required (weekend and holiday shifts are very busy)
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Works well under pressure
• Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in sales
• Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
• Strong math skills
• Strong communication and time management skills
