Job description

We are looking for a Safety Officer to help us make all locations cleaner, safer, and more secure. You will be in charge of making sure everyone follows local, state and federal regulations and our Safety Management System code. The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong sense of responsibility and organization as well as a high degree of communication and collaboration skills. We want to see your ability to use technology and software to help us measure our safety performance. We’d like you to perform safety inspections, analyze safety metrics and corrective actions, identify incidents and hazardous conditions and implement a proactive approach to safety. Your goal will be to guide teams on how to comply with local, state and federal laws, as well as our organization’s safe work practices.

Responsibilities:

• Closely work with managers in various departments to ensure that all employees follow safety procedures.
• Enforce and manage safety regulations and training .
• Produce and manage health and safety reports .
• Collect site-specific data and conduct regular assessments of risks (i.e. fire, electrical, chemical etc.).
• Recommend ways to improve safety standards by analyzing health and safety considerations in the workplace.
• Create, update and implement evacuation plans for the workplace in case of emergencies.
• Teach employees how to recognize safety hazards and follow safety procedures (e.g. lock down during fire, use personal protective equipment when handling chemicals etc.).
• Perform routine inspections of facilities/equipment (e.g. railings, fences).

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $41,600.00 per year
