PURCHASING AGENT
Overview: GrowGeneration is one of the largest retailers of hydroponic products in the United States and is engaged in the business of marketing and distributing horticultural, organics, lighting and hydroponics products, including lighting fixtures, nutrients, seeds and growing media, systems, trays, fans, filters, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, timers, instruments, water pumps, irrigation supplies and hand tools.
Position Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Salary Range: $45K- $50K / DOE
Purpose of Position: Supports Purchasing team
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage store purchasing schedules for store locations
- Work closely with Store Manager to verify purchase requisitions
- Verify store stock and purchase needs
- Identify best source for items requested
- Prepare and coordinates transfer orders
- Prepare purchase orders and submit to vendors
- Follow up on Sales Order items lead times for out of stock products
- Ensure proper costing on all order
- Work with other Purchasing Agents on bulk buying opportunities
- Resolves shipments in error with suppliers
- Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents
- Works with the Commercial Account Managers for PO placement and ETA confirmations
- Provides planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data/trends
Requirements:
- Highly development judgment and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Developed verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, DDI, and QuickBooks preferred
Compensation includes a salary commensurate with experience, participation in group insurance plans upon eligibility, employer match in a company sponsored 401(k) plan, paid time off, sick leave, parental leave, and more.
